Phantogram

It was a good show, the lights and sound were very on point—S’s vocals were incredible. It didn’t hit like I’d hoped though—lots of filler and filler-songs in my opinion, not much presence, and at the 3/4 point I was okay with it ending whenever it did. The following did not contribute to my 3.5 rating: The opener was a backtracked rapper. Didn’t make me very “hyped” for Phantogram. A last note. This I didn’t expect being 42, a little younger than Phantogram’s members, the crowd was abysmal. The worst I’ve ever experienced. Full of 15-year-olds screaming like it was Justin Bieber, rude-a*s clueless college bros, a creep-1000, 32-year-old dude openly flirting with and attempting to grind on multiple underage girls, we had to put a stop to that and nearly came to blows. Could’ve all been total coincidence, but be warned, for some reason Phantograms majority live fan base is e-girls, high schoolers, and dope college bros. I’m happy for the band to be newly discovered by an audience a generation younger, but no thanks to the Ohio fans.

The doors opened at 7.00pm, I’d queued for an hour beforehand. There was no support band and they didn’t come on until 8.55pm, so everyone was waiting for at least 2hrs before they decided to grace us with their presence and for me a 3hr wait……….not happy at all. The gig was good, the crowd really got into it but for me the less well known songs just sort of blended into each other. I saw them back in 2014 at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester and that was a much better gig as they had a full band and the sound was on another level. I’ll not be seeing them live again.

Incredible as usual. It was my fourth time seeing them and my second time at Jannus. The last time I saw them there was almost 10 years ago at the same venue. Earlier that day we got to see them at the 97x green room play three songs in the small studio and stay for a short Q&A and I got a picture with Josh and Sarah, which was awesome. So grateful for this day.

Hot, sweaty, and way too crowded at Empire Live in Albany, just the way an Indie Rock show should be. A homecoming of sorts for Phantogram (they originated in nearby Greenwich NY of all places), with this mid-tour stop. And they were freakin' great. Sarah's stage presence and performance level continues to evolve and grow, and so does Josh's. They had the crowd mesmerized, and the song selection was really good. I mean they REALLY played! Still, I would have liked to have heard more from the newest album Memory of a Day, such a fantastic album. I guess I would have liked to have heard more overall - they only played an hour and a half and that's about the only negative thing about this show. Opening act Open Mike Eagle was pretty fun and entertaining, not really my kind of thing though he seemed to really connect with the crowd. However he played his DJ/Hip Hop performance a bit too long, or at least too long for me, at 45 minutes. Also saw Phantogram do a short hour-long "DJ Set" recently here at the same place in December 2024, a few days before Christmas. Before this I think it was 2018 when I last saw them. So now this show was timely as a full performance gig, so great to see them again. If they're coming anywhere near you, don't miss the show, don't miss this tour.

Amazing night - Phantogram are professionals. The setlist was well-balanced, the band’s performance was phenomenal, and the lighting stole the show more than a couple times. It’s incredibly rare to find an electronic band that can make such intricately mixed songs sound just as good or better live, but somehow Phantogram pulls it off every time. Hats off to everyone who helped make this concert Come Alive!

The venue was awesome. The opener was amazing and the main event, Phantogram, was a 10/10 performance. Combining strong stage presence, an awesome set list, and an absolutely brilliant uae of colors a d light for effects, this was a concert I will remember for the rest if my life. Thank you to the venue and the bands for making this possible.

Great show! House of Blues, however, was not a big enough venue for this group. Attendees could not move around… at all. Several people passed out near us, due to no breathing space, and we were in the back of the room. The show, however, was awesome. Hope to see them again in a more suitable venue.

Phantogram’s set was stunning. Each & every song delivered the full vivid intensity that makes their music so special. Sarah’s emphatic, captivating vocals and stage presence dovetailed perfectly with Josh’s complementary vocals, wry smile, and high kicks. We only wish their set could have been longer. Our GA pit tickets made for an unforgettable experience. We were first in line when the doors opened, and only ended up behind a couple rows of fans who’d bought VIP tickets with early floor access. We didn’t stay for the Kings of Leon set, opting to keep Phantogram’s performance freshest in our minds. Glad we did this. Hopefully Phantogram returns to Seattle soon after their new album is fully released. Next time Phantogram has a headline tour, we will probably try to attend back to back shows in Seattle, Portland, Spokane, and Vancouver, BC.

When Sarah said "Welcome to the best show you will ever see" she was right. Opening for Kings of Leon? I would have happily watched Phantogram perform for 4 hours straight and skipped the "main act" entirely. The sound was perfect, the instruments, the vocals, all of it was tight for a live event on a Monday night no less. Their performance of Black Out Days brought tears to my eyes. The show itself was like an exercise in performance art with emotionally charged powerful music backing it. Would I see them again? Absolutely Should you see them? Absolutely!

5 stars doesn’t do it justice, they were amazing. And I knew I was going to cry like a b***h if Howling At The Moon was played, and I did, as to me it’s a really upbeat song about loss. And I’ve lost friends and my father, and not trying to sound like a downer as it made me feel better about it, like it’s ok now. All the bands were killer, only gripe is I wish the show was longer. 45 minutes in the heat though, top notch.

Fantastic! Given that MCB is not my favorite venue to see shows, it was still an amazing and emotional concert. Sarah's delivery on the new material was just as passionate and intense as with all of my old faves. Josh's guitar and vox was solid and rocking just as I would expect. And tour drummer, Chris Carhart's accompanying backbeat set the tone for the show- present and in the moment. Five stars all the way and I would definitely recommend Phantogram to anyone interested in a great rock show with something new to offer.
