Traveling with crates of 12 inch records in and around Chicagoland from house parties to banquet halls concerts to nightclubs performances, Ray Eng was trained to deejay from the industry Legends of House Music that he would frequent with. Rooted during the 90’s house music vibe, Ray has crafted his ability to mixx for the dance floor developing unique sets blending everything from Top 40 to hip hop to today’s electronic dance music, which is his benchmark. “I’ve always played what the dance floor ask me too…there is no specific order of sets you may hear from me!” says Ray modestly.
Ray Eng’s musical and creative intellect has privileged him to be Co-Executive Producer/Co-Producer for Classic Chicago Freestyle Legend (The Hitmen ft Nicole Martorano – ‘Fallin in Love”) under his own former Indie-label that promoted a level of integrity to become people’s choice while still maintaining the presence as a Deejay in the dance scene. Today, Ray Eng is president/owner of Ricochet Records Chicago, which, gives him no limits to the music industry but his effort transcends to his core of deejaying. His moniker (Ricochet Records Chicago) credits him to co-produce 4 mixx tapes Enter the Dragonfly Vol. 1-4 and the road manager and performance r.e.mixxer/producer for a former Pop Sensation/Chicago Music Award nominated group. Ray’s past/present mobile experience includes Total Entertainment, A to Z Entertainment, and Boom Entertainment/B96. Past/present residencies/slots at nightclubs like Club Fever, Galaxy, Blu Chicago, Glow, CroBar Chicago, Skore’s, EnClave, Prime n Tender, Exclaibur, Dillinger’s, Dore, Excalibur, Stereo, The Oz, Rain Milwaukee, and Rain Las Vegas to name a few.
On his live sets, Ray Eng powers his craft of beat blending with 1200’s and CD players to incorporate techniques with Digital Vinyl Systems like Native Instrument’s Traktor Scratch Pro, Denon DJ Pro Gear and midi controllers.
