Born from the underground into an era of disorder, where harmony is dissonant and resolution remains out of reach, Franky Fox emerges from a self-imposed silence with a singular realization: the time has come to return to the stage.

After watching his previous band wilt away, Fox retreated behind the glass of the industry’s most respected recording studios. What followed were years of developing his ears as an engineer and producer. Working on other artist’s music, he continued honing his skills, earning a Grammy along the way.

Yet for all the success found in the control room, something essential was missing.

Watching his hometown of Los Angeles go from being a thriving haven for live music into a declining western civilization, Fox found himself drawn back to his roots, writing songs reminiscent of Deerhunter, The Beach Boys, and the Elephant 6 Recording Company. As the songs began to multiply, Fox assembled a band of lifelong friends and named it Prefix.
