Cinnamon Sun

Northern Rivers-based Roots / Reggae / Hip-hop band, Cinnamon Sun, oozes a comforting conscious vibe that will have you transported to a Tahitian bar under the orange setting sun, with all worries lost.

Fronted by the grounded and forever chilled Davy Simony, Cinnamon Sun is the evolution of his global solo roots journey, now enriched by a dynamic collective of talented musicians. The project has sparked a fire that wants to keep burning. Accumulatively they’ve toured Australia, America, Europe and Japan; played iconic festivals like Bluesfest, Earth Frequency, Kuranda Roots, and St Kilda Festival; and supported heavyweights such as Tash Sultana, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and Daryl Braithwaite.

Sonically, Cinnamon Sun sits comfortably next to the likes of Ocean Alley and Dope Lemon—think dreamy guitar riffs, vintage keys, and sax lines that float like incense smoke. Davy’s warm, honey-soaked vocals glide between smooth melodies and laid-back flows, echoing the spirit of Mac Miller with an earthy Aussie twist.

With multiple Triple J premieres, over 500,000 streams on Spotify, and love from Beat Magazine, Forte, StereoFox, AU Review, and more—Cinnamon Sun is a rising star on a mission: to uplift, connect, and get you groovin’.

“Like drifting off into your own imagination, Cinnamon Sun is the kick-off into a blissful existence. Understatedly poetic and great, you can’t go wrong with these cats” - Nkechi Anele (Triple J)
