bushman

Bushman began DJ’ing at 18 and landed his first booking within six months, a testament to his natural talent and dedication. His ability to seamlessly blend different music genres without relying on memorization quickly became his signature art. This skill set a strong foundation for his career, allowing him to perform across prominent venues on the South Coast, including Junk and Whitehouse in Southampton, Liquid & Envy, Tiger, Drift Bar, and Club 8 in Portsmouth. Over time, Bushman shifted his focus to producing and mixing Afro-House, Soulful House, and Deep House music.

After completing university in 2012, Bushman broadened his musical horizons by exploring the rich history of dance and house music culture. His expertise in both vinyl and CDJs made his transition to Afro-House seamless, as he fell in love with the genre’s deep mixing, synths, and melodies. Inspired by artists like Black Coffee, Themba, and Black Motion, he refined his craft over the next decade, delivering immersive DJ sets characterized by long intros and intricate EQ distortions.

Now, as Managing Director of WeAreiDyll Records, Bushman has built a platform for African electronic artists to thrive in the global market, securing international playlist features, radio play, and industry recognition.
