Wunderhorse have seen their popularity snowball the old fashioned way; winning fans over through visceral live performances and Jacob Slater’s vivid songwriting. 2024 saw ‘the arrival of a band that could become generational’ (Rolling Stone UK) with the release of their sophomore album, Midas. Recorded at Minnesota’s Pachyderm Studio (birthplace of Nirvana’s In Utero & PJ Harvey’s Rid Of Me) with producer Craig Silvey, Midas follows their acclaimed 2022 debut, Cub, and captures the visceral atmosphere of the band’s lauded live performances. Following a year supporting the likes of Fontaines D.C and Sam Fender, 2025 sees the band touring North America ahead of playing their biggest headline shows to date, and their first European headline tour. Wunderhorse are a band who have quickly become one of British guitar music’s most exciting outfits.

They are a great band but the last 2 gigs were frustrating for me, Went to Belfast last Tuesday and they were ok once Jacob got his voice warmed up aster 3-4 songs and Rain at the end was excellent.
The problem is they have become a little self indulgent from what I witnessed, Fillers in songs and dragging out the show, They must have wasted 10-15 minutes pleasing there egos when most fans would rather have hear Purple and more certainly leader of the pack. I probably won’t go out of my way to see them again in all truth which is a shame as they have made 2 excellent albums.
