Michaela Slinger

Vancouver-based Michaela Slinger is punching above her weight as one of North America’s most exciting rising singer-songwriters. Her forthcoming record “Green and Trying” (out Sept 25th 2026) marks a shift toward her self-described “Laurel Canyon era” and features 10 songs that detail delicate moments inside relationships, navigate change, and earnestly ask the question: how does one become a good (or better) person?

Michaela's live shows are full of hilarious banter, stop-you-dead vocals, and emotional moments that connect the crowd. She's opened for artists like Dermot Kennedy, Donovan Woods, Hayden Everett, Bre Kennedy, and Michael Bernard Fitzgerald. Michaela's band is comprised of Vancouver's most in-demand musicians including Benjamin Millman (Tiny Habits, Katie Tupper), and she's been spotlit at the 2025 JUNOFest and 2024 Western Canadian Music Awards with a nomination for Pop Artist of the Year.

Michaela’s poignant lyricism cuts straight to the heart, and this album is like the part of the dinner party where the food’s gone, the wine’s low, the wax is dripping from the candles onto the table, and everyone’s wrapped up in various intimate conversations—some laughter, some tears, but space for connection with everyone. Green and Trying follows in the footsteps of her last EP THERE’S STiLL TiME YET (2025) via independent Chatty Cathy Records; and This Can’t Last Forever (2023) and Panorama (2021) via 604 Records.
