Angelfire – Seattle, WA Area Band Biography

When we are not playing our originals, we cover such artists as Johnny Cash, Elton John, Ricky Nelson, The Doobie Bros, Kiss, Rolling Stones many others.

Everyone enjoys the music of Angelfire, whether it’s the jazz or rhythm & blues crowd or the hard-rockers. The guitar work is amazing, along with very intelligent, meaningful percussion. Angelfire music is very energetic, fun to listen to, and fans enjoy seeing the intensity that Angelfire plays with live.

Band members are Jimi Lee Barela and Angelo Ortiz.

Jimi Lee Barela is a masterful guitarist, singer & songwriter who has been fusing rock, blues and jazz, and has performed around the Seattle, WA area for a number of years with his band Cavernous Groove & Jimi Lee's All-Stars before being joined by long-time friend, Angelo Ortiz to form the Duo “Angelfire”

Angelo Ortiz is a well-known, gifted percussionist, named Best Instrumentalist by the Washington Blues Society in 2016. Angelo has had multiple previous nominations for best percussionist, including 2018, and has appeared on the cover of Big City Rhythm and Blues Magazine, a nationally published music trade magazine. Angelo has also played with notable greats, Randy Oxford and Lee Oskar, and appears on many CD's and recordings around the Northwest.
