As a child growing up in Brazil, I often felt very lonely and lost. Even though I was very sensitive, I couldn't properly express my feelings and was unable to share my emotions with others.

It was difficult to make friends and I didn't find any enjoyment in playing with other kids. My parents concerned with my peculiar behavior took me to see several doctors in the hopes of untangling the enigma that I was. However, all of them failed to properly diagnose me, and so my mental health and self-steam continued to suffer day by day.

One of my Mother's good friend also happened to be an Occupational Therapist, and in noticing the situation advised her to get me involved in extracurricular activities. She suggested to us that I should experiment with different activities and observe closely to see if I responded positively to any of them. After participating in a number of in after-school programs like swimming, language classes, volleyball, painting, and a few others, my family noticed that the guitar lessons I was taking were the ones that most drastically affected my mood. It was beautiful to listen and learn, and exciting to play. For the first time in my life, I felt I was on the right track to finding my passion.

Noticing my enthusiasm for the very first time, my Mother also encouraged me to learn to sing as well. From that point on my entire world opened up. I was introduced to The Beatles, David Bowie, and other major inspirations. Studying them I began writing my thoughts and feeling, attempting to make sense of years of unexpressed emotions through music.

Since then I have been able to finally come out of my shell and found ways to collaborate with talented musicians and bring out the best in each composition I write. I still suffer from relapses in my metal heath to varying degree, but through music I've been able to find refuge in times of personal hardship and struggle. A haven where I can reconnect with myself and the places and people who inspire me to keep at it. This desire to keep pushing myself and pursue my passion has led me to move to the United States and study Jazz Music at the City University of New York.


Today I'm lucky to be part of a great team of musicians comprised of Niko Shevelov (Ukraine) on drums, Sohei Narita (Japan) on saxophone, Moto Kobayashi (Japan) on bass, Sanchez Fernandes (India) on the guitar, and Dennis Chung (Taiwan) on the keyboard. This diverse group of brilliant musicians represents the best of their country of origin. They each bring a distinct flavor and style to every song; It's a privilege to play music with them.

I'm inspired every day by the other students, teachers and also just by observing the people of this amazing city. When I have the chance, I also love to travel and look at the world from different perspectives. By immersing myself in other cultures I can more eloquently express my own experiences and opinions regarding the time we are living in now.

My purpose in life is to entertain, challenge and inspire people so that we can empower one another.
