They write songs about things we all witness in our own life experiences, from long car journeys to drunken nights to the ‘special’ characters that every town and village have bouncing through every street. However, they do tell each story to a background of Americana inspired rhythmic hypnotic blues music. The backbeat of each song has a pulse that sings to your soul through Murphy’s drums, then you find yourself lost in music as Lamie’s captivating and alluring guitar style wondering why have you never found Dixie Fried before now ? With inspirations coming from RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, with the more contemporary North Mississippi Allstars and very early Black Keys it is easy to hear their hero’s influence but still capturing the dry yet clever, Scottish wit within the lyrics.
