BI TYRANT

Formed in 2014, Bi TYRANT brings an unapologetically bold edge to the underground music scene. Led by the fierce Brittany Anjou, alongside powerhouse drummer Laura Cromwell (ex-Cibo Matto, Growing Up Skipper) and shredder guitarist Valerie Vetere (ex-Friendly Bears), the trio formed after a fateful tour to Montreal. Their debut album, Bisexual Tyrant, dropped in September 2016, making waves with the explosive single "F*ck Donald Trump," which quickly became a fan favorite.

Their boundary-pushing Menses Tour (2017-2019) hit stages from Boston to Beirut, leaving a trail of electrifying performances that were too explicit to be publicly shared. Known for their underground DIY ethos and wild stage antics, Bi TYRANT went dark while Brittany was based in the Middle East. In 2018, they resurfaced briefly as a jazz octet at NYC’s Winter Jazz Festival, showing their versatility before beginning work on a second album with legendary producer Martin Bisi in 2022. The band’s lineup has always evolved, but one rule remains: any cis male musicians must perform in drag.

Bi TYRANT continues to break norms and challenge conventions—onstage and off.
