Chi TheRealist

Chi TheRealist is a Chicago-born, Rochester-raised hip-hop artist and spoken word poet whose work transforms vulnerability into strength. He began writing at fourteen as a way to process growing up without his mother and navigating the weight of self-doubt, identity, and purpose. What started as survival became calling.

Rooted in emotional honesty and lived experience, Chi’s music explores resilience, mental health, fatherhood, faith, and self-worth with clarity and conviction. His art doesn’t posture — it speaks plainly about pain, growth, and the decision to keep going.

Beyond the stage, Chi works closely with youth in the Rochester community, mentoring and building creative spaces where young people can find their voice through music and storytelling. Whether performing or serving, his mission remains the same: to remind people that their story isn’t over — and that choosing to live fully is already a victory.
