daniel is a very dear friend of mine and last night was the first time I had seen her in 16 years. So, the concert was fabulous on a personal level and on a musical level there's not much more you can say about Danielle how accept that most of the singer songwriters of today look to her for inspiration and have for quite some time. is a good reason for that. Everything Daniel does comes from the heart. & I can say the same thing about Amy Ray.

Über Danielle Howle

The New York Times calls Danielle Howle “an extraordinary mind, a southern storyteller with a gorgeous sense of melody that should be pouring out of stereos everywhere.” Known for captivating audiences with her stunning vocal ability, contagious pure energy and incredible songwriting skills, Danielle’s music ranges from country swamp blues to jazz to Americana.

Danielle has opened for a wide range of acclaimed musicians such as Bob Dylan, Janis Ian, The Avett Brothers, Darius Rucker, Sam Bush, Gillian Welch, Steve Earl, Stephen Wrembrel, Matuto, Saralee Guthrie, Ani Difranco, Indigo Girls, Shawn Mullins, and Fugazi.

Recently returning from touring with Indigo Girls in the western US, Howle went full force into 2017 by recording a Live CD with her band.

Danielle has gained worldwide admiration as both a performer and music educator. After her most recent UK tour with Martin Stephenson and the Dainties, Danielle taught a week- long song-writing workshop at the Akron Civic Center with Nashville notables Steve Bogard and Jamie Floyd. “My goal is to be completely aware of each student’s authenticity and goals, so I can explore with them and reveal creative opportunity. We dug in deep in Akron. The student commitment was astounding and humbling to me.”

In addition to a busy regional and national touring schedule, Danielle is co-founder and serves as artist-in-residence for Awendaw Green, an arts network near Charleston SC. For 8 years, every Wednesday, rain or shine, they have been producing a weekly musical review show called The Barn Jam, featuring established, emerging bands, and songwriters from all over the U.S. and abroad. Each Wednesday, this event draws a crowd upward of 500 fans, and has stimulated explosive interdependent growth in the music and arts community in the low country of SC.
From Awendaw Green, Danielle Howle created Swamp Sessions- the only solar powered recording facility in a national forest. The Francis Marion National Forest, on the tidal Echaw Creek, is home to Swamp Sessions- a place where artists meet, write and are produced by Danielle Howle. In addition to recording sessions, I songwriter workshop is held there where Danielle teaches with an elite group of educational professional. A detailed list is available upon request.

Howle has also applied her musical gifts to film for many years, and loves to put music to moving visual stories. She recently produced a short film with concert violinist Catherine Dudley-Rose. An intimate portrait of a performing artist’s journey as seen through the lens of her relationship with her pianist/composer father, “Parallel Chords” continues to receive national recognition throughout the film festival circuit. In addition to producing the film with director writer
Dudley-Rose, four of Howle’s songs are featured in this short 13-minute film soundtrack.

As part of her spring tour supporting the Indigo Girls, Danielle Howle has just released a new 5-song EP. This collection is a sonic experiment pairing various producers, studios, and techniques. Grammy winner: producer/engineer Malcom Burn mixed mixed track two, “How Do You Want to Go”. The Ep titled “Pot Of Water” is available at live events and will be released digitally in May of 2017.
