Taj Mahal and his band are legendary. The opener Sona Jobarteh and her band were inspiring as well!! It was their last night on the tour, so it felt extra special.

The show was Great!! That was my first time seeing Taj, and I’m so glad I got to experience him.Wished it was longer

This was a special event for my wife and I - we danced to Taj and his band on our first date 47 years ago at the Rusty Nail, a converted tobacco barn in Sunderland, Massachusetts. Taj was wonderful, and his voice was as strong and gravelly as it was back then (although he wasn’t boogying around the stage like back when he could do an actual cakewalk!), and the addition of a maestro like Sona Jobarteh was an unexpected bonus. Also the talent of his band was phenomenal, from the ex-Coral Reefers steel drummer to the Hawaiian pedal steel guitar player, who did a searingly beautiful version of the instrumental “Sweet Talk”, which was always that last slow song at the high school dances. And his Trinidadian drummer - well, do you remember Animal on the Muppet Show? That’s him. Two complaints, though. First, Taj didn’t come on till after 9 (for a 7:30 show), and we didn’t get enough of his newer music, because he didn’t play that long. Second, it seems the crowd came for Jobarteh (who got multiple standing ovations) and didn’t appreciate Taj (several people actually left during his set). Wife and I were ready to dance in the aisles, but most of the audience barely moved when he sang. Given his amazing career, and the fact that he was bringing such great African roots music to a wider audience, I was disappointed in the audience, but not the musicians. Having said that, the final jam involving both bands was rousing and wonderful.

I have seen Taj Mahall four times in the last six years. They are awesome. If you’ve never seen them you need to go see them they are the best jazz music ever.!

Taj Mahal is a fantastic, talented musician. I saw him briefly at JazzFest in NOLA and was looking forward to another performance at the Greek Theater last night. Unfortunately, the entrance lines were very long and slow and he started before we got it. I think he started around 7:15PM. We were seated by 7:25 and he stopped playing at 7:40. Was wondering why the show was so short. Did enjoy the few songs we heard but bummed!

Fantastic night of Taj and Friends taking us back for some jazzy, big band blues! SF Jazz Center is a wonderful venue!

Not a bad seat in the house. He played 6 instruments and is just great. Los Lobos was amazing too.

I’ve seen Taj now three times all of them were good but this was the best of the three.

Taj was absolutely amazing. The 80 year old guy still can strum my heartstrings 5 STARS all the way!

Taj always puts on a great show and his band is super. I also saw them last March in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and they were great there too!

but the crowd was so disrespectful I couldn’t hear his speaking everyone chatting over the music

Great venue and a legendary singer, composer, and musician who can still play & sing as well as ever. The current supporting members of his quartet and the set list consisting of songs from many musical genres combined for a great evening of entertainment.

40 plus years of seeing Taj & 20 years since Keb was last in town. They are even better. Taj thrilled with a strong "Leaving Trunk" & "Take a giant step". Keb' Mo is a smooth guitarist and strong vocalist. Black Pacific (Taj's kids) were a warm opening & sexy backup singers for the headliners as well. These guys genuinely love each other and so should you!

It was great show, Taj was great, the band was great. I would give 5 stars except a concert hall is no place to see a blues show. You need to get up and dance around.

Always a great show and to see him at Tip's made it all that much more special
