The band employ a steadfast "do it yourself" attitude with their brutal brand of metal, that has seen them crisscross the country over seven times with the likes of Killswitch Engage, Devildriver, 3 Inches Of Blood, Daath, Mushroomhead, (Hed)P.E. and Hatebreed. Now after spending the past two years on the road, Better Left Unsaid have returned the battlefield more bloodthirsty than ever before with the release of their new self-titled album on June 18th on Epochal Artists Records/Capital Music Group. The album was recorded ProView Studios in Riverbank, CA Studios with producer Adam Ruppel (Systematic) at the helm, and combines all of Better Left Unsaid's influences from the technical thrash precision of Testament, to the groove laden attack of Pantera. The group have concocted a molten metal attack that stands tall beside the likes of Machine Head, Nothingface, Threat Signal, Soilwork and Meshuggah. "We are extremely bored with most of the current metal trends. There's not enough songwriting in a lot of newer metal. It’s getting too technical in a lot of ways, it's almost like watching a movie that is just a giant car chase with no plot. If you can listen to an entire album and nothing sticks with you after it’s done, the album has failed." said says guitarist Greg Fender. "We didn't sugar coat anything on this record. We wanted things to be raw and dark and dirty and ugly. There are plenty of other metal records that are super clean and perfect, but they're also sterile. We wanted this record to be like real life; harsh, ugly, unforgiving. Sometimes everything is not going to be alright." Better Left Unsaid are a complex melodic metal machine that utilizes heavy grooves and technical precision to craft a powerful versatile attack. One minute, lead vocalist Adam Raffety lets loose anguished growls that sound a caged animal, and the next he's belting out some of the most infectious melodies you've ever heard. Their versatility is their greatest asset and the band have bottled up all the trials and tribulations over the past few years, and unleashed them onto their explosive new self-titled album, Better Left Unsaid. "We all went through some tough personal chapters as individuals during the writing process, and I think that influenced the mood and direction of the album heavily. We vented a lot of darkness into the record and I think it's pretty apparent in the end result." Better Left Unsaid have been making noise within the underground metal world and caught the ear of Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta who signed the band to his own label, Stillborn Records, for the release of their debut album "The Fight Within". The album benefitted from critical acclaim as well as coverage on MTV’s Headbangers Ball for the video single “Testify”. Sophomore album "Only the Dead to Witness" followed in 2010, and established the rhythmic pummeling sprinkled with melody that now defines the band’s sound. "We had our EP recorded and hit the road, booking our own tours and sending the music out to anyone who would listen. About six months and three DIY tours later, we finally caught the attention of Jamey Jasta and Stillborn label manager Mark Vieira who wanted to hear more. Once they saw us live that's where it all began," says drummer Brent Terry. "If you think you are working hard, then you have never met Jamey Jasta, because he is the hardest working man in all of metal. He's out there every day shaking hands, kissing babies and networking, and he taught us that gorilla marketing is still relevant in today's music business. He showed us that playing music for the love of music and not for money is still the way it should be done. He believed in us and is living proof that you have to believe in yourself and never give up."
