About Hammerhead

Hammerhead is a young thrash metal band formed in 2010 by two very young schoolfriends. As they wanted to bring back the old school attitude of the Bay Area scene, they decided to start a band as old school possible. As some 13 year old kids in 2010, it was difficult to hit upon some good musicians. After 2 years the band had found their first line-up and their first gigs which where also their first international concerts. Hammerhead has shared stages through Europe with bands as such: Entombed A.D., Dark Funeral, Destruction, Tankard, Violator, Anaal Nathrakh, Obituary, Satan, Rompeprop, Warbringer, Exumer,... When you listen to Hammerhead it sounds like going back in time to the good old Bay Area scene. They wanted to sound as a band straight from the 80’s metalscene and wanted to make something different from other new coming thrash metal bands. The influences of the band comes from acts like Kreator, Destruction till bands such as Whiplash, Testament, Vio lence, Exodus,... With the second Ep “The doom that came to Sarnath”(2014) the band wanted to bring Thrash metal at a higher level. The Ep along with 6 new blasting songs will remind you like it was back in the day. The main titel is based on the story “The doom that came to Sarnath” by H.P. Lovecraft. When you listen to Hammerhead it sounds like going back in time to the good old Bay Area scene! Thrash metal as it ones was. Aggression reunited!
