The Conscious Kind

The Conscious Kind started playing shows together in September of 2014. All current members of the band graduated from the same High School in 2011, but only two had played in a band together. It wasn't until the lead guitarist (Jonathan Doerk) started playing guitar while attending UCF that the idea to form a band was realized. The band formation started in early 2014 when Jonathan Doerk and roommate Wil Pinkley (Bass & Rhythm Guitar) started recording demos in their apartment. When they had enough material they contacted an old High School friend (Zac Caslow) to play drums. Next came the addition of a lead singer and second guitarist, both fellow UCF students. After several shows as a 5 piece the two newest members from UCF decided to focus on other jobs and left the band, leaving The Conscious Kind with a void at lead Vocal. The band contacted another old High School friend (Roy Reid), who had been singing at a local church, to come in and take over lead vocal duties. After a short and successful try out the bands current lineup was solidified as a 4 piece. The current form of the band started playing shows together in Dec. 2014, and started recording their debut album Eyes Wide Open in May 2015. We just added a new member to the band, Kyle Broesch! He has taken over drumming duties to allow Zac to come up front. The Conscious Kind is a band from Maitland, FL. They play a throw back style of Rock that lends itself to a lot of high energy, foot stompin, groovin jams
