Andy Cooper and Michael Cooper make up From Tribes (formerly known as the band 'Room 24') an alt-rock/post rock band out of Austin, Texas that was voted among the Top 10 "Best U18 Bands" in The Austin Chronicle's Austin Music Awards poll 3 years in a row and won the 7th annual Jam Fest in Austin in 2014. From Tribes gigs regularly around Central Texas and has is currently in the studio recording new singles with their producer, Tim Gerron of Gerron Music, whom they previously worked with on their EPs, 'Interweave' and 'Closer to Reality' as well as singles. From Tribes's root influences are the bands, Tool and Deftones. The 3-piece strives for a sound that never reduces to instruments playing only conventional chords and expected progressions. They are, instead, naturally inclined to create a layered, textured sound of full melodic lines and harmonic structures. The result is music that is creatively much greater than the sum of just 3 individual parts.
