Marauder - Hard rock and metal covers

After the untimely demise of Steelfield, Phil and Andy decided that they would stick together and see if they could rescue something from the ashes. Luckily for them James, who had just left Stonegate looking for some harder and more challenging tunes caught their advert pretty much straight away and even after the first hastily arranged jam it was obvious that everything gelled and a new band was forming. Andy and Phil knew Mark from various jam nights and muso social events and were aware of his guitar talents and his interest in getting back into the band scene.

2013 saw a little personnel reshuffle with the welcome addition of Mark Christopher on Lead vocals and guitar an accomplished player and singer with many years of experience. Notably having played with Anthem, N.I.B and D.O.A.

When Phil decided to move on to pastures new his replacement is the excellent Shakeel Raza, the baby of the band and an extremely talented drummer who played in a thrash band Hospital of Death. He has become very much an integral part of the overall Marauder sound, notably for his intricate drum passages and somewhat hilarious comedy drum fills.

Mid February 2014 has seen another line up change with the departure of Mark Miller on lead guitar. We thank him immensely for his contribution over the years and genuinely wish him well for the future.

Now to the new guy... Well! what can we say? He bears a slight resemblance to Grant Mitchell but bloody hell can he play. He helped us out as a stand in and due to an unfortunate series of events, he was offered a place if it ever came up. He has now accepted and we are privileged and honoured to welcome about the amazingly talented Paul McGill previously of Sabre.

Our influences are varied and too numerous to mention but the following is a taster of the type of bands Marauder will be offering up for your delectation…Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC, Pearl Jam, Ozzy, Megadeth, Sabbath, RATM, Ratt and many more.

We are now where we want to be and will be revamping the set in the very near future. See you soon folks for a good Marauderizing
