About Courtney Taylor-Taylor

Courtney Taylor-Taylor (born 20 July 1967) is the primary songwriter, lead singer and guitar player for The Dandy Warhols, a band he co-founded with peter holmstrom. He went to Sunset High School in Portland, Oregon. The majority of the songs are written by Taylor-Taylor including hits "We Used to Be Friends" and "Bohemian Like You".

He is a self-proclaimed narcissist who once dated Jane Pratt, the founder of Jane and Sassy magazines.

About this narcissism, Stephen M. Walker II once said, "Courtney Taylor-Taylor may be egotistical and a narcissist, but this is okay because he is truly a beautiful man, with more genius in his left small toe than most musicians on this planet."

After a mixup involving a hotel receptionist he changed his name from simply Courtney Taylor to Courtney Taylor-Taylor in 1999.

Courtney's cousin, Michael E. Armagost, was Third Mate on the USS Edmund Fitzgerald, which sank on Lake Superior in 1975 drowning all men on board.

He appears in and narrates the documentary DiG!, a film about the relationship between his band, The Dandy Warhols, and sometime friends/rivals The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
