Bludy Gyres

Bludy Gyres has recently released their first full length album which is entitled "Echoes of a Distant Scream" (2017). Founded in 2014, Bludy Gyres is a doom metal band in the early Black Sabbath tradition. What makes this band unique is the inclusion of early English prog influences. A two song EP which was twenty two minutes in length and release in 2014 is entitled 'Bludy Gyres'. This contained two songs named "To Live Is To Bleed", which is a metal version of the old Scottish ballad "John Barleycorn". The second song is "Kept Death Busy". There was a second release in 2015 which was a single eighteen minute doom epic entitled "Behold! Your World Now Burns!" Both releases were produced by Mike Froedge (Black Label Society, Dixie, Inc). "Defy the Lie" is a single produced at Tommy Stewart's Blue Ogre Noise Lab and released in 2016 as a sample of what will be a full length album for 2017. Of note, the group consists of two members from thrash metal band Hallows Eve, Chris Abbamonte and Tommy Stewart. At the end of 2016, Bludy Gyres signed with Soman Records for one album which is now released as "Echoes of a DIstant Scream", also produced by Tommy Stewart.
