Cash grab anyone...? The hype, the videos, the name...and then real life. ;-( As a seasoned raver/festival goer, this was substandard. Started at 1pm, Fisher due on around 8ish. Vibe Got there around 4ish. Kool. Party people everywhere...keen as. Not a bad vibe. Excitement. But, 'flex culture' is in full swing atm. So lads with shirts off and flexing them muscles, tats and attitudes to match. Whatevs, if that works for you, happy daze. But a negative, angry vibe is not welcome at a dance festival/rave. Never has been. Sad. Music So yeah its crowded and I could whine about the line for loo's, drinks etc but that's the norm. What was weird and maybe it's 'new' thing was between each DJ/act THE MUSIC STOPPED! Since when has a festival/rave had music stop? Ridiculous. I thought any DJ worth a grain of salt could/should be able to mix in from the last DJ's track. So here I am, at a festival with thousands of peeps, all in a 'good mood' and keen to dance/enjoy and the music stops between 'sets'. Maybe I'm missing something. Felt like the DJ's played for an hour exactly and not a minute over. The sound/playlist/tracks of the other DJ's (PNAU, Booka Shade (live set) etc)...all played...mediocre. The feeling was these guys have eben around and can bang out a tune...so why not...? My feeling is they have been told to play 'boring' stuff to make the main act (Fisher) seem more the focus. Yawn. FISHER Ok, so now its around 8ish and suddenly vibe changes somewhat. Everyone is not 'extra happy' (must be the good weather ;-) and ready. Flames. lights the whole shebang, obviously poster boy is here. . Starts the set with a well-known track of his.. Then...yawn...well you know it's an average mix when peeps around you start talking. Not only is the sound that bad I can clearly hear randoms talking but a very boring set. End and its all over at 9:30pm. Wait what...?! Must've been past Fishers bedtime. NSW Cotton Wool laws...who knows but felt ripped off.

About Fisher

Australian tech-house producer Paul Fisher (aka Fisher) brings a sense of carefree fun to his productions, which strip away pretenses to focus on serving the dancefloor. He came to the public's attention in 2018 with his brassy single "Losing It," which was certified platinum in his home country and was nominated for a Grammy. The follow-up "You Little Beauty" was also a success, and Fisher continued releasing upbeat club material such as 2021's "Just Feels Tight," 2022's "It's a Killa," and 2023's "Take It Off."
