Nonie

NONIE is the latest Australian power packed songwriter to cross over into the artist realm. Raised in Canberra, Australia, NONIE is a graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, U.S.A. NONIE combines soaring vocal melodies with heart stopping lyrics all in the name of dark synth fueled pop. Born into a family of film/TV engineers and producers, NONIE was encourage to purse all things creative and music was just one of the many things she enjoyed. Learning piano and singing in choirs through her teen years, it wasn’t until she picked up a guitar that she started writing songs. At 17, she became the drummer for an all-girl rock band that didn’t last very long but in that time wrote her first song that won a local songwriting competition. NONIE pursed further study with Australian composer Jim Cotter, gaining considerable experience in many genres. Focusing her passion into pop, enrolling in Berklee College of Music, NONIE studied with Kara DioGuardi, John Oats, Bonnie Hayes and The Elev3n (Meghan Trainer). NONIE has been working with many up and coming producers but has paired with Brooklyn based producer Andrew Seltzer. Together they create a powerful team founded on emotion, pure indie grit and dynamic vocals, (think Sia meets Lykke Li.) NONIE released her debut single “Devil Dancing On My Toes” on Soundcloud, which will be followed by an E.P due mid June before going on her first U.S tour in August 2015.
