Yami Aloelela

Yami Aloelela is a singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, a unique talent, he’s the bassist for the Fado singer Mariza and has collaborated with numerous well-known Portuguese and international artists, such as Carlos do Carmo, Sara Tavares, Paulo de Carvalho, Amor Electro, Demis Roussos, Ivan Lins, Anna Maria Jopek, Rhani Krija, Tito Paris, among many others. Yami is the son of a Portuguese father and an African mother, he was born in Luanda and he has his own music project, his life project. His roots are transmarine and come from the south, where he joins tradition and innovation, as well as the rhythms of Semba, Coladeira and Morna, merged with Funk, Reggae and Rumba. Yami germinates all of this in his creations and it is difficult to define them. In 2007 he released his first album, which not only lead him to play in many places in Portugal, but also all over the world, from North to South America, Africa and Europe. 2016 will be the year of a new release, with his album ‘Beijo de Luz’ avaible.
