THE BAKERSFIELD REJECTS are a trio who specialize in 60's style country and old-school soul. Fans of Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and Ray Charles will be very pleased. Singer/guitarist ARTIE BETCHEL is one of the finest tele players in town and knows quite well how to conjure up that fabulous Roy Nichols/James Burton sound. On keys, VAUGHN ADAMS can really pound 'em out, and as the former singer for PDX surf-tonk legends, Wife Stealing Bastards, his trademark "high-lonesome" vocal style can once again be heard in Portland barrooms. On drums is new-comer KIER BAKER (no relation to Joe or Ginger).
