About Lindsey Kappa
Lindsey Kappa has made it a habit of jumping into things with both feet. This has certainly benefited her at a young age with her music career. But unlike so many her age, she also had a realistic view of what it was going to take to survive in music—so when her cousin, a touring musician himself, suggested she learn audio engineering, she saw it as a chance to hedge her bets.​
​ With that in mind, Lindsey made the decision to attend The Institute of Production & Recording (IPR) to pursue an Audio Production & Engineering Degree, rather than majoring in music. But it wasn’t without some level of fear. Nevertheless, through hard work and perseverance, she was able to meet other local musicians, engineers, producers, and more through performing and freelance work.
As she neared graduation, Lindsey began to realize that her studies at college weren’t giving her the hands-on experience she really needed. At that point, she made an unexpected move to Austin, TX and enrolled into the Recording Connection (RRFC) Advanced Engineering program where she interned at The Bubble Recording studio with Chris "Frenchie" Smith as her mentor.
As of now, she climbs her way up in the studio industry as an assistant engineer at Chicken Run Studios with Dylan Fischer and Scott Collins. With two albums under her belt and her plans to perform towards the end of 2018, we think it's safe to say that Lindsey Kappa has a message for the world, and we're listening....
