Marike Jager

Marike Jager never aspired to become an artist. Perhaps that was exactly what made her one of the Netherlands’ most beloved and distinctive singer-songwriters.
She invites you into a musical universe of exciting songs, playful rhythms, and melodic gems. Exploring vulnerability, imperfection, and the beauty of feeling like an outsider, she crafts her stories through guitar, piano, and even a handmade wooden music box. A natural weaver of stories, she creates an intimate connection with her audience — personal, funny, and disarming.
Anyone who has experienced Marike Jager live knows she always reveals the unexpected. She moves adventurously through her own imaginative world, where she always finds glimmers of light in the deepest darkness.
Inspired by The Beatles, Fiona Apple, Beck and Tim Burton, Marike Jager creates music that is playful, heartfelt, and unmistakably her own.
“Right on the money, a wonderful piece of work” (Grammy winnerTchad Blake, USA)
“It was inspiring to share the stage with you” (Feist, CA)
Marike Jager is a mother of three. She finds joy in the small things: creating stop-motion films, brewing good coffee, listening to vinyl records and reading children’s books. To clear her head, she runs along the river.
