Boyfriend - St. Louis

Boyfriend was originally formed by Chuck Pudiwitr, Timmy Reynolds, Bobby Flynn and Marc Pelletier as the Jets in 1979. In 1983, the band recorded an album at Ardent Studios in Memphis TN., selling over 3,500 records in and around the St. Louis area. After Marc left the band in 1984, John Sloan came aboard, writing and performing original music. At the time, they were one of only a handful of groups attempting to break out of St. Louis allowing them to open shows for John Mellencamp, Shooting Star, Eddie Money, Michael Stanley, Quiet Riot, Pat Travers, BadFinger, Grand Funk, Stray Cats, Humble Pie, Autograph, Alice Cooper, Greg Kihn, Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Billy Idol, Kingofthehill and many others. Performing 1,600 shows at Mississippi Nights, Stages, Westport Playhouse, Kiel Opera House, Kiel Auditorium and many bars and venues across the tri-state area, while shopping around their originals to record labels and backers with the assistance of Shelly and David Grafman from KSHE radio. Featured on KSHE’s seeds and KWK’s homegrown radio programs, they built a loyal following in St. Louis. Although they were not picked up by a major label, Boyfriend continued to pack venues and rock their loyal fan base until 1989, when they decided to pause their career to pursue other interests. Recently, by popular demand, they performed together at The Pageant for the Stages reunion and at Rooks Gameday in Maryland Heights. They are now recording material for a second album.
