Waivada

Waivada, the newest band to emerge out of the music Mecca that is Athens, Ohio made their debut in early 2014 and haven't slowed down since. Comprised of Ohio University Students hailing from Cleveland and Cincinnati with a wide variety of musical backgrounds, Waivada seems to be the picture of eclecticism with a different flavor for every different emotion and musical feel. What was initially just a weekly jam sesh known as “Whiskey Fridays”, quickly created chemistry among members, including Garrett Namian(guitar/vocals), Jack Emmerich (Guitar), Jon Averbook(bass) and Ronnie Price(drums). With their wide range of musical influences, this 4-piece seamlessly weaves in and out of instrumentals that feature color of the musical spectrum with influences spanning genres of funk, grunge, southern rock & blues, psychedelia, and reggae. After establishing themselves in the Athens Music scene, Waivada signed with A-Town Roots Music group and has since begun branching out across Ohio. They just recently released the first installment of their live-cut studio material in the form of a self-titled EP through Brick City Records, and plan on having more studio material released in the coming months.
