Joseph Dailey

Joseph Dailey is a songwriter with music inspired by the rhythm of the Texas landscape and lyrics that reflect his own life experiences and his view of the world, the way it is and the way he would like it to be. Joseph made his trek from Silsbee, Texas to Austin in the summer of 2009. Five years earlier, he had spent his school days writing songs instead of essays, playing guitar instead of video games, and singing for the piney woods instead of people. At the age of sixteen, Joseph began playing the open mic at the Log On Cafe in Beaumont, TX for the patrons and the players of the evening. Quite often the acts were the audience. It was here at the Log On that Joseph gained the encouragement and the support integral in the formation of a young artist. By his senior year in high school, Joseph was playing many of the music venues of Beaumont's Americana scene. In his transition from the illustrious piney woods of Silsbee (Satsuma Valley) to the beautiful hilly landscape of Austin, Joseph developed his appreciation for a multitude of music that has been the proven heart beat of the Austin culture. In his time in Austin, Joseph has played the historic Cactus Cafe, the equally storied Saxon Pub, and in addition to many others. In of May of 2013, Joseph won a songwriting competition at the University of Texas at Austin held by the Kerrville Univiersity Songwriters Program in collaboration with the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Texas Heritage Songwriters Association and London Broadcasting Company. His win at UT secured his spot as a performer at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Five other Texas universities sent representatives to compete against Joseph for an opportunity to perform at Music Fest in Steamboat Springs, CO. In a competition of extraordinary competitors, Joseph Dailey was selected as the winner and Steamboat Springs Music Fest 2014 performer. 2014 will see a productive year for Joseph Dailey. After a successful performance at Music Fest 2014 in early January, Joseph will prepare for a summer tour in support of his self-titled debut album slated for a simultaneous release.
