About Rabbit Fever

Chim moved back to San Diego from Mexico in 2012 with hopes of creating a rock and roll band. After a year of struggles (2013) and after many searches for musicians to play with, Jahaziel Arrieta (Chim's cousin) managed to get Marcelo Ruiz in touch with Chim. Marcelo then suggested a bassist he knew from school, Rudy, and the trio was formed. Marcelo left the group shortly after but Rudy and Chim stayed together. They tried out different drummers like Rogelio Avila, Blake, Jonathan and ultimately working with the very experienced indy drummer, Carmen Martinez. Rudy, Carmen and Chim did several shows together throughout the San Diego area. Carmen's solid drumming helped solidify the band into tight band practices and creative songwriting. Chim moved to Tijuana and started helping Jessica Sánchez learn how to play the drums. While the two were practicing, Aldo Sánchez, a complete stranger at the time, showed up with a baby in his arms. He asked kindly if he could watch them jam, and Chim invited him to play the drums. Aldo blew Chim's mind and they started playing together more often. Aldo suggested Einar Belcebú to play bass. Aldo left the band to spend more time with his family and Jessica Sánchez took over the drums in 2016. This year saw the group establish themselves in the Tijuana rock scene, and everybody got to know the line up as Chim, Einar and Jessica.

Jessica left the group towards the end of the year, and currently Einar and Chim are ready to release Rabbit Fever's first album, "A Whore Named Stacy." Aldo recently rejoined the group and the band is now ready to do many live performances in promotion of the first album and the new Rabbit Fever t-shirts.
