About J2Music
Joe Simalonda is not new to the gospel music scene. He is well known in and around his native Zambia and central Africa for a series of singles that helped to put a fresh spin on the genre in recent years. His debut compilation of hip hop and R&B inspired party anthems and heartfelt ballads "Till Dreams Do Us Part" put Christ and Christian living front and center in an accessible way in 2014.
Hit songs like "Blows me away, Butter butter, Dreamer and Lalala" are still often heard playing on the local air waves in Zambia, Kenya and South Africa's One Gospel TV Channel.
His latest effort, "The Sixty7th Epistle" produced at his current base in the mid-west United States, where he is studying theology - takes a more traditional gospel music tack. The album ranges from church-choir praise to soulful worship, while including a couple of anthemic
arrangements more reminiscent of large stadiums than church buildings. This music is deeply inspiring, heaven opening, and soul catching.
