About Chris Botti

Chris Botti
Since the release of his 2004 critically acclaimed CD When I Fall In Love, Chris Botti has become the largest-selling American instrumental artist. His success has crossed over to audiences usually reserved for pop muisc and his ongoing association with PBS has led to four #1 jazz albums, as well as multiple Gold, Platinum and Grammy Awards. Most recently, his latest album Impressions won the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album at the 2013 55th Grammy Awards. Performing worldwide and selling more than four million albums, he has found a form of creative expression that begins in jazz and expands beyond the limits of any single genre.
Over the past three decades, Botti has recorded and performed with the best in music, including Sting, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Josh Groban, Yo-Yo Ma, Michael Bublé, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer, Andrea Bocelli, Joshua Bell, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and even Frank Sinatra. Hitting the road for as many as 300 days per year, the trumpeter has also performed with many of the finest symphonies and at some of the world's most prestigious venues from Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl to the Sydney Opera House and the Real Teatro di San Carlo in Italy.
Impressions, Botti's 2012 Columbia Records and Grammy winning release, is the latest in a stellar parade of albums – including When I Fall In Love (2004), To Love Again: The Duets (2005), Italia (2007), and the CD/DVD Chris Botti in Boston (2009) – that has firmly established him as a clarion voice in the American contemporary music scene. Playing with his uniquely expressive sound and soaring musical imagination, Botti is joined on the disc by featured artists Andrea Bocelli, Vince Gill, Herbie Hancock, Mark Knopfler, and David Foster in a warm, intimate celebration of melodic balladry.
With Impressions and the albums that preceded it, Chris Botti has thoroughly established himself as one of the important, innovative figures of the contemporary music world.

What fans are saying
I’ve heard Chris Botti at the Blue Note before, but hearing him in this old theater in Westhampton felt completely different.
The theater has a scent of its own — warm, slightly musty, like an old country house, with something almost like sourdough in the air. Oddly enough, I loved it.
When Botti’s trumpet filled the room, the sound and the scent somehow seemed to mingle. It made me think that music is a little like water — it takes on something from the vessel that holds it. The same music can give you a completely different color of emotion depending on where you hear it.
It was quietly beautiful, and I truly enjoyed the evening. Highly recommend catching a show here next summer.

Seeing Chris Botti at the NCPA in Beijing was something else. The venue itself is stunning — that giant glass dome over the lake, the futuristic vibe — it felt like a proper event from the moment you walked in. And the acoustics? Absolutely world-class. Every note from the trumpet rang clean and warm through the hall.
But the real magic was the lineup. The combination of Botti, John Splithoff, and Fernando Varela was every bit as powerful — if not more so — than many of the Botti concerts I've seen. And that's even with his usual guests like Caroline Campbell, who always brings that exquisite violin presence. This trio had its own spark, and it hit hard. The venue elevated everything. Unforgettable night.

The show was fantastic but I can only award 4 stars for one simple reason. We paid to see Chris Botti but while we saw a lot of him, we did not hear a lot of him. This show seems primarily for the purpose of promoting new talent all of whom were great. I actually would not have forked out the money for box seats had I known this. Need to add a good 25% more Chris Botti songs or rebrand this as a variety show.
