Queendom

Queendom draws on the talent and experience of two performing artists with backgrounds Nigeria and Uganda. The group was established in 1999 and all the members of the group are actresses, singers and writers. Queendom aims to raise the profile of black women in Norway by creating both socially aware and entertaining performances. Our music and lyrics carry a positive Afropean sound and message. We present material in both in Norwegian and English. Through poetry and music, we offer concious and thought-provoking entertainment. Listen, dance, enjoy! In 1999 a group of young African-Norwegians decided to form Norway's first all-black, all-female performing arts collective. 12 years, 3 comedy shows, 2Norwegian tours, a book, a TV-show, and hundreds of concerts later - Queendom is still going strong.
