About Wolfe Sunday

Laurence Crow spends most his time on the road, bringing his unique style of acoustic folk all over the UK and Europe. From the early days of breaking in to a local radio station under cover of darkness to record his debut album, and the constant touring that followed, Laurence was never afraid to just drop everything and do what he loved doing. A by-product of a bad break up and later being made homeless, in the early days Laurence Crow focused his energy on booking shows, finding sofas to sleep on, and being the best he could be. After touring the length and breadth of the UK and some of Eastern Europe, selling homemade CDs as he went, Laurence Crow was soon bursting with new material and ready to start work on a brand new album. This time the money earned from relentless gigging allowed Laurence to hire a proper studio for a short time and introduce close friend Will Cummings on drums. Coming in at just over half an hour (due to running out of money to pay for the studio!) the critically acclaimed sophomore album Empty Bottles, Broken Bones was released in early 2016. Characterised by witty, honest storytelling and an accomplished sense of melody the album shifts towards a more mature, punk rock sound still underpinned by the artist’s unique experimental folk roots. Now earning a steady living from continuing to play regularly, Laurence was finally able to take the time to make the album that sounds exactly how he wants it to sound. The new, self-titled album, featuring 12 brand new tracks, has a more upbeat feel than previous albums, with songs ranging from acapella anthems to instant punk rock classics. The return of Will Cummings on drums, and spending more than three months in the studio means you can expect a multi-layered, and much fuller sound than ever before. On the road, of course, it’s just one man and his guitar. The Imaginary Band is a cocktail of intelligent and witty lyrics, an energetic live set and a burning passion for music. Laurence Crow & The Imaginary Band is the upbeat folk project of Laurence Crow. wolfesunday.bandcamp.com instagram.com/andtheimaginaryband
