About The Woven Project
Formed in March 2009 initially as a duo, The Woven Project have multiplied four fold to now consist of 7 permanent musically diverse members. Throughout many guises and with a unique open door policy, seven other guest musicians have along the way brought different influences to the melting pot, resulting in there own very original sound. Since starting out, the band has played over 120 gigs, from Hastings to Newcastle, in major, minor, and sometimes unconventional venues. With chameleon like qualities they can play as a duo or a full ensemble, both acoustically pure or fully electrified, with flexibility to suite any venue or event. They have played many medium and boutique festivals in the two summers since their beginnings, having graced the stage at the Tall Ships Festival 2010, Stockton Riverside Festival, Middlesbrough Music Live, Intro Festival, Willowman, Chilled in the Field, Todstock, Waterside Festival, and Solfest to name but a few. Thriving on the festival vibe and with a passion to play to an appreciative crowd, their music sits very nicely, and have a genuine love for such inspirational settings. Along their journey they have supported amazing acts such as; Grand Archives, Jesca Hoop, Roddy Woomble, King Creosote, Goldheart Assembly, Seth Lekman, The Unthanks, amongst many others. Rather than wax lyrical about their influences and music, they would just like you to listen to their music and make your own mind up without any preconceptions. Formed in March 2009 initially as a duo, The Woven Project have multiplied almost now consisting of 7 members. A lo-fi, acoustic and experimental with elements of a folk influence. And hope to bring you melancholic, soulful music from the heart.
