Waves of Silver

Formed in the foggy Richmond District of San Francisco in April of 2013, the unique sound that these young musicians create is influenced by a variety of genres and hovers somewhere between Jazz, Folk, and Indie Rock. Waves of Silver was formed in April of 2013 by Ariel Friedman and James Johnson, who started simply by jamming together with no intentions of starting a band... However, after a few weeks of playing together, and sharing their first few originals with their bassist, Jack Sundquist, they decided to try their luck at a local open mic. The small crowd there warmly and excitedly received their unique blend of indie rock, folk, and jazz thick with dynamic melodies, interesting time signatures, and thoughtful lyrics.
