They have definitely gotten more powerful sounding and learned some new tricks. I will see them again next time but i feel like itll be a little while since rebeccas gonna be having a little one soon. I know its off topic but yall should tour qith phoebe bridgers or julien baker or torres someday. I know thats a little complicated since all of you as artists are headliner level. Anyways great show im so glad i got to meet yall before the show

The show was good, but missed being great. I think that Rebecca has a very nice voice, and the way that the sound system was set up, it focused almost exclusively on the music and much less on the singing/lyrics. To my mind, the best part of the show was when Larkin Poe played acoustically, and it was possible to hear not just their wonderful musicianship, but also the terrific singing. I like a loud show as much as the next person, but I like to hear the lyrics. I've been to hear the Stones and Bruce Springsteen, and in those situations, the balance between the music and the singing was much better. As for the venue? The Wilbur has been an old, tired venue for years, with uncomfortable seats and limited leg room. That is not Larkin Poe's fault, but it really is not a wonderful place to visit.

I've been wanting to see Larkin Poe (aka Rebecca and Megan Lovell with their band) for quite awhile, and took the Amtrak Surfliner from L.A. to Santa Barbara to catch 'em at S.B.'s Arlington Theatre. I wasn't disappointed; both the Lovell sisters, who began playing bluegrass as Georgia natives in their early teens, are now blues-rock guitar heroes, with Rebecca on electric guitar (she also plays acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo and numerous other instruments) and Megan on lap steel and dobro. I was a little disappointed in the mix; the bass and keyboard sometimes seemed like an indiscriminate background wash, and even the Lovell's solos were sometimes not as upfront as they could/should have been. Still, Rebecca and Megan are impressive musicians and sing together with that chemistry you can get with siblings. Rebecca, in particular, is an excellent front person for the band, and never lets the energy level dip. Best song, in my opinion: "Bad Spell".

About Larkin Poe
Larkin Poe’s new album “Bloom" (out Jan 24, 2025) sees the dynamic sister duo venturing further along on their evolving musical journey with a collection of songs that resonate with introspection, authenticity, and a profound connection to their roots in American music. Produced and largely co-written by Megan, Rebecca, and Tyler Bryant, the album marks a significant evolution for Larkin Poe, reflecting a synergy that extends beyond mere musical partnership. Already hailed for the sincerity of their songcraft, the Lovell sisters now place an even greater spotlight on their gift for storytelling, delving deep into personal narratives with universal themes of self-acceptance and individuality against a backdrop of contemporary blues and rock influences. With their distinctive blend of masterful instrumentation and soulful harmonies, each track unfolds like a chapter, with lyrics that wind deeper and deeper towards the heart of Larkin Poe.
