The son of Tuneeka Asberry, Pugh was raised by his mother mostly times of his life. She was actually on vacation visiting her family during her pregnancy with Pugh. For his teenage years of his life he had no contact with his biological father, Harvey Pugh, until he was an adult. He had a difficult childhood, moving frequently around in the Baton Rouge area , Mula received an education In numerous of schools around his city until He later dropped out in the 10th grade trying to pursue his hustling/music career but shortly after at the age of 17 he got locked up for numerous felony"s -most of charges got acquitted but while being incarcerated he later manage to achieved his GED . from Devante mother, he saw some of his life's hardships through her struggles with abuse & poverty While living in Baton Rouge, he discovered rap and began performing as a artist around Louisiana . In the late 2000s, Pugh and his family moved to the Scotlandville area in Baton Rouge . He joined the Baton Rouge, Louisiana -based hip-hop group YNW$, which earlier had scored a hit with the song "U Don't Want my Problems ." Mula appeared on the group's recordings— Goons on tour Mixtape before going solo. Debut as Mula Pugh In 2016, Pugh emerged as a solo artist—using the name Mula—with his debut Mixtape Supplyin Pressure. The track "downlow " No. 3 On the Cd Score a Major buz bringing in 400,000 views in 3 Months Around this time,Pugh became quite a sensation, earning praise for his musical and acting talent as well as condemnation for his explicit, violent lyrics. Many of his songs told of fights, gangs, and sex. He appeared to be living up to his aggressive gangster rap personality with several arrests for violent offenses in the 2000s. In 2014 , he spent several months in jail for vehicle homicide his charges was reduce to felony hit and run then later acquitted in March 2015 he was released After serving 11 months in prison, Mula returned to music with the mixtape Mula Campaign (2015).
