Attending Lea Salonga's live concert was an experience not to be missed, as echoed in the sentiment: "If I miss the chance to hear them sing live this time, I might regret it if they stop singing in the future." This thought often crosses my mind whenever a favorite singer of mine has a nearby performance. So, determined, I embarked on a nearly two-hour drive to witness Lea Salonga's night of music, and it was absolutely worth every moment.
For those familiar with her repertoire, Lea Salonga is intertwined with the childhood memories of many through iconic songs like "A Whole New World" from "Aladdin" and "Reflection" from "Mulan." Her voice holds legendary status within the Filipino community and beyond, resonating deeply across Asian audiences. Not every Asian singer can achieve such prestige and global recognition, especially since the '80s and '90s.
Beyond possessing a powerful, emotive, and melodious voice, Lea Salonga captivates with her charming and humorous banter. Despite being 53, her nearly two-hour performance held the audience captive from start to finish.
