About Dear John - Band
Dear John are an electronic-melodic-noise 3 piece b ased in the North East of Scotland. Combining loops, abstract sounds and industrial ele ments with their heavy, energetic live vibe, Dear John have created a sound that can only be describe d as Synthetic Ultima Drunge. Dear John recorded their demo in 2005 with Glaswegian solo artist Rico who has worked with influential musicians such as Tricky an d Gary Numan. After a break, a new bassist was recruited an d Dear John revived themselves on the Scottish music scene. In March 2014, Dear John were hailed as joint winners of the Fat Hippy Battle of the Bands, which saw over 100 Scottish bands and solo a cts enter. As a result of this, Dear John signed to Fat H ippy Records to record and release their electric 8-track d ebut album 'Synthetic Ultima Drunge'. In August 2014, Dear John released their first digi tal download 3 track single 'Live In You' through Fat Hippy Records on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. On September 1st 2014, Dear John released their debut album 'Synthetic Ultima Drunge' in both physical and digital form. Dear John are currently unsigned, gigging and working on a follow up.
