About Diaries of a Hero

London based metalcore Diaries Of A Hero released their second studio album in the summer of 2014. Mastered by none other than TesseracT’s guitarist Acle Kahney, the new self‐titled release offers a uniquely tight rhythm section comparable to the new wave of djent bands like Periphery, with a mix of stomping Killswith Engage riffing, Atreyu‐like vocals and the band’s trademark drum n bass oriented grooves. The production is mouth-watering and meticulously polished while still capturing the essence of a great live act, as lead guitarist John Weeks says: ‘This album’s completely designed to be played live. We’re a touring band and playing for our audience is how we can ultimately deliver our songs and feel closest to our fans’. Having stepped off a massive tour, opening for heavyweights Motörhead and Anthrax, D.O.A.H’s new album, released via German label Dust On The Tracks did not fail to impress, as Heather from Indulge Sound puts it: “This band understand that you need subtle diversity, really killer melodies, and a unique blend of styles to really write an epic release, and that’s what makes this record so damn awesome. 5/5”. This multicultural quartet crossed paths while attending Uni in the electric capital in 2010, incarnating it’s unique creative edge. Debut album ‘Behind The Mask’, released in 2011 by Italian label Get Rocked, showed a band with extraordinary energy and capable of remarkable music creativity spawning a funny blend of influences ranging from Metallica to Frank Zappa earning them rave reviews from the likes of Rock Hard Magazine (“Energy and rage combined with technique to create an original artistic vision”). Diaries Of A Hero insists their ambitiously frantic live performance has always been the focus of their attention. The band’s efforts certainly do not go unnoticed as Stacy Warner from the Cultured Vultures webzine writes in colorful detail: “Diaries of a Hero are everything a metal band should be. Tight drums, powerful riffs, vocals that will make you see the devil and balls the size of planets”. Filling slots at numerous festivals like the Rock & Metal Circus Festival and Hard Rock Hell with the likes of The Quireboys, Wolf and Revoker, frontman for the band Charlie says: ‘ Perhaps the days where we dragged our beat‐up Marshall amps from one urine-infused venue to another are still not behind us, but I dare you to come to one of our shows and not feel the urge to come talk to us aberwards! We practice very hard, every day, to get you to bang your head’. “It’s like we’re stuck in a spiral of perpetual songwriting!”, says MaR, bass player for the band. New material is constantly in the making as the band’s new year’s countdown will take place in their studio, recording a 4 track EP in anticipation to a third album. Talented drummer Leonard Berisha says, ‘The stuff we are coming up with now is absolutely mental! I’m not sure who’s to blame but we can hardly keep up with these tracks ourselves!’. www.diariesofahero.tshirtmachine.com
