Dizzy Juice! RHCP grins benevolently within these ambly, guitar-forward, easy-living compositions. Clean, warbly guitar lines replete with reverb/echo/delay give way to Frusciantefied, waily solos in the refrains (like him, their tasteful pedalwork bespeaks long sessions of tone practice). Classic self-assuredness defines the rhythm section: Nick Mason's fat, thick timbre married to punchy, wholesomely thudding bass, a tight unit wearing the group's trademark triple-meter grooves like your favorite slippers. Over all this, vocals rooted in slackercore (though possessed of sufficient grit to engage the dynamo when the occasion calls) swoop and slur through wry turns of lyric, buoyed every so often by sugary swells of harmony in the middle distance.
