About At the Seams
Born in the winter of 2012, At the Seams is a Portland Oregon based metal band with members hailing from across the country as well as Portland natives. The members of ATS share one common goal...to create metal outside the box and destroy everything in their wake. While blending all types of heavy music the band has achieved a sound that is fresh, revitalizing and simply put...devastating. With song's ranging from a slow crushing groove to near break-neck speeds, the members have created a genre crossing monster that challenges the norm of "labeling" a band and their music. Fronted by vocal power house Spencer Tyler, and backed by the constant crushing tone of guitar duo Kevin O'Leary and Edward Kilpatrick, The band's fury only deepens from the groove laden beats of Dan Anderson and the leveling low-end of ???????????. Together...the 5 have created a titanic sonic beast thats unrelenting in it's attack. With their freshman release looming on the 2014 horizon, the band has been hard at work writing in their home studio dubbed "The Doom Bunker". When asked about how ATS approaches writing the new material O'Leary said "Everything is filtered through every member, there's no note unturned and no beat unheard". Guitarist Edward Kilpatrick added "We try everything that each of us have to offer and every member's idea's are used which is why we have a sound you cant duplicate...5 head's are better then 1". We believe this is how we have grown so quickly as a band and developed a true level of comfort during the writing process. Genre crossing, pit turning, Portland groove metal...
