Violet Isle

In a musical world filled with indie, indie rock, indie pop, pop and every variation in-between, Violet Isle falls into the genre of “genreless”– and this is a damn good category to be in. Together since 2008, Violet Isle’s infectious tunes are winning over the Northwest. Now, it’s time to win over the rest of the country with finely-crafted, song-driven, watch-out-you-might-start-singing-along, tunes. Violet Isle’s music is built around the strong melodies and unique chord progressions of lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Sean Garcia. The indispensable backbone for the band is comprised of Nick Gable on drums, Jordan Clark on lead guitar, Kelly Gable on Synth/keyboard & backing vocals and Zee Farrouge on bass. The band creates a musical sound-scape with lush harmonies, powerful guitar lines, and quite addictive hooks and lyrics. Their sound has been aptly described as “Finely crafted, song driven, indie rock!” and have been compared to The Velvet Teen. They have proven themselves to be an up & coming band to watch. In Spring of ’09 they were selected through a Sonicbids band search conducted by Chicago based label, Failure to Communicate Records, to be part of the labels Radiohead Tribute Album. They appear on the record with their version of ” Lucky” along with 21 other bands, including Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls and Scotland band, Frightened Rabbit. Their debut album, “i am ivy,” was produced as a result of a Kickstarter campaign – through this, Violet Isle fans made the first full-length album possible. It was released in August of 2010. In Summer of 2011 VI had a successful West Coast Tour to California and recently returned from a national tour to SXSW in Austin, TX. NEWS UPDATE May 1, 2012 ::: Violet Isle is currently in post-production to their sophomore album, EP, “Unscramble These Thoughts” which is anticipated to release mid-July 2012. Violet Isle has been working on this record for well over a year; while keeping the integrity of the music with powerful hooks, thought provoking lyrics and haunting melodies that are a signature of VI, this album will be sure to take you down an even darker rabbit hole.
