Ska N Mash

DJ Ska N Mash took his first dip into selecting at the age of 13, ran a club back in the late 80s and has dj'd alongside bands since 2001. Over the last 10 years this has developed into a standalone branded project that has seen him dj alongside The Dualers (O2indigo, Brentwood, Southend), The Selecter (Cambridge, Southend), Bad Manners (Chelmsford, Southend), Freddie Notes, Neville Staple Band (Cambridge), Roddy Byers from The Specials (Ilford), Lee Thompson from Madness (North London), King Hammond & Dave Barker (London), he was part of the the dj team at Skamouth Festival 2014 - 2019 and Skabour Festival 2015 - 2019 as well as the sole dj at Ska Train Festival in Cambridge 2015. He was the sole dj and MC at the Brentwood Festival 2014 with UB40, Alexander O’Neil, Dualers etc. part of the team of 5 in 2015 and headed the team of 3 in 2016 - 2019 with lots of 80s/90s bands including the Dualers, Boomtown Rats, Soul II Soul, Brand New Heavies, Level 42, Tony Hadley, ABC, Status Quo, Billy Ocean, Jocelyn Brown, Midge Ure, Heaven 17, The Real Thing, Jesse J, Clean Bandit etc. He was special guest dj at several of the Soul on the Sea events on Bournemouth Pier. And he creates his own 50 Shades of Reggae events based in pubs and clubs around Essex as well as organising the Stanford Ska Sunday events on the bank holidays in Stanford-le-Hope.

He promotes his own events in Essex, notably around the Dagenham, Romford, Grays, Southend and Stanford-le-Hope areas. These have included Legend (Bob Marley tribute), The Dualers, The Talks, Los Palmas 6, The Dekkertones, The Estimators, TootnSkamen, The Rifffs (MT), Bootleg Blondie, The Jam Project, Sounds of Weller, Special Kinda Madness, Big 10, The Scorchers, Undercover and many more.
He also hosts 80s nights, Sounds of a Generation (mod, new wave, soul, motown etc) and Groove is in the Heart (70s80s90s disco).
