An outstanding one-off performance by the band to launch their third studio album, in front of a home audience which also included fans who’d travelled long distances in the U.K. and some from overseas! The first half of the show was mainly devoted to tracks from the new album, including the title track “Pomegranate” and an interesting live adaptation of the equally memorable “Balancing Act”. Drummer Russell Field’s brought a jazzy feel to his favourite track, “Glass Houses”, and Cole Stacey’s vocal skills came to the fore on “Cascade” and what now seems like an old favourite “After the Flood”. Slightly in the background, where he seems most comfortable, but drawing everything together is the brilliant Joseph O’Keefe. The person next to me asked if there was any instrument he can’t play and I couldn’t think of an answer, though I have never seen him with a woodwind instrument! The second half of the show included tracks from their earlier recordings, a collection of fan favourites that they dare not leave out of any live performance, though they are constantly evolving. Touring in September, grab a ticket now.
