Adam Zuniga

Adam Zuniga is a guitarist, composer, and educator based in San Antonio, Texas. His music combines the expressive warmth of nylon-string guitar with the tonal depth of electric instrumentation, creating melodic, atmospheric compositions that move between chill, ambient, and post-rock influences. Each recording invites listeners into a cinematic soundscape built on layered textures and subtle rhythmic motion.

His most recent album, Nightfall, presents a refined synthesis of the styles that have shaped his career. Drawing influence from smooth jazz, world fusion, and cinematic production, the album explores textural layering, spatial depth, and harmonic resonance. The result is a cohesive body of work that reflects both technical precision and emotive restraint.

A lifelong musician, Zuniga began playing guitar as a teenager, developing his ear through both classical and contemporary styles. His attention to tone and phrasing evolved through years of performance and recording, leading to recognition from San Antonio Current readers, who twice voted him Best Instrumentalist (runner-up) in the publication’s annual Best of San Antonio Music issue.

Zuniga’s invitation to perform through the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Music Under New York (MUNY) program placed him among a nationally recognized group of professional musicians. His live performance history includes television performances with platinum-selling artists such as David Bisbal, and Ana Bárbara, and collaborations with Austin-based groups including Dream 2 Dream, Hours Quiet, and Love Hate Affair. Since 2006, his performances have found a home in venues ranging from art galleries to high-rise lounges. He currently maintains a residency at the Centre Club on the 30th floor of the Weston Centre in downtown San Antonio. In addition to his performance work, he teaches Philosophy and Humanities for the Alamo Colleges District, bringing the same reflective approach to both his music and his classroom.
