What started as an acoustic folk punk solo project from singer songwriter Justin Conway, gradually evolved to be a fast, loud, guttural and visceral rock band made up of a rotating cast of musicians…
In 2019, the band went on hiatus to record a studio album and spent the pandemic writing and recording “THE WAVE THAT YOU LOVE.”
Influenced by bands like Against Me, Bright Eyes, Jeff Rosenstock, and The Stooges, Conwaythewhale delivers powerful anthems with gut-punching lyrics about heartbreak, tragedy, alcoholism, movies and cult TV shows.
Their newest album “THE WAVE THAT YOU LOVE” was mixed and mastered at Fortress of Graditude Studios and produced by Justin Conway and Sasha Sonnier.
Conwaythewhale is dedicated to being actively anti-racist, anti-sexist, and advocates for reproductive rights, and the LGBTQ+ community.
