About Marvin Binns
Marvin Binns hails from the parish of Manchester on the island of Jamaica. He started singing at the age of 10 when he was ushered into the youth choir of his local church. His musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Beres Hammond, Garnett Silk, Donell Jones, Carl Thomas, and the great Jamaican music King, Bob Marley. Marvin and Twin brother Marlon Binns became a musical duo when he provided back up vocals for his brother who first got noticed by a popular music company in Jamaica.
Years later he went solo fusing R&B and Reggae. One of his first collaborations was with Jamaican Reggae/dancehall icon Bounty Killer, the single is called, "Love Girls." Many collaborations followed including rapper Yung Wung, that garnered the attention of Grammy-winning producer duo Sly and Robbie.
Marvin has opened and shared stages with some of Jamaica's biggest artists across the Caribbean and the United States of America. Some of his most memorable performances include the opening of Jamaican internationally known reggae/dancehall artist Kranium in 2016, at the Amazuru Concert Hall in New York where he had women screaming and men applauding him for his rendition of Bitty McLeans' all-time hit song, "Walk Away From Love." Opening for popular artists I-Octane and Dexta Daps were also great moment. In 2021 Marvin Binns gave a cameo appearance at the Afro-Caribbe Music Festival in Miami and opened the 2022 staging of the annual Best of the Best Music Festival in Miami, Florida on Memorial Weekend, featuring Beres Hammond, Christopher Marvin and other popular Caribbean entertainers.
